Paros - The Quintessential Greek Island?

In our opinion, holidays to Paros tick most of the boxes of what people imagine a Greek Island escape to be..
More specifically, Naoussa, the island's main resort is a whitewashed labyrinth of narrow streets full of stylish boutiques, cafes and restaurants leading down to the harbour square where elegant bars compete for the best view of the Aegean Sea as you watch the sun go down..
Not as expensive as Mykonos nor as busy as Santorini..it's the right time to visit Paros before it gets too popular.

PAROS IN A NUTSHELL

Natural beauty, sophisticated Naoussa, nightlife, traditional picturesque villages with small white houses, memorable beaches..Paros is the quintessential Greek island destination.
Paros is an island in the Aegean Sea, part of the Cyclades group in Greece. It is known for its stunning landscapes, traditional villages, and crystal-clear waters. Here are some highlights of Paros:

  1. Parikia: The capital and main port of Paros, Parikia is a charming town with narrow streets, white-washed buildings, and traditional Greek architecture. The town is home to historical sites such as the Panagia Ekatontapiliani, a Byzantine church.

  2. Naoussa: A picturesque fishing village located on the northern part of the island, Naoussa is famous for its vibrant nightlife, beautiful harbor, and traditional tavernas. The Venetian castle in the town adds to its charm.

  3. Golden Beach (Chrissi Akti): A popular beach on the eastern side of the island, Golden Beach is known for its golden sand and crystal-clear waters. It is a great spot for water sports enthusiasts, especially windsurfers.

  4. Kolymbithres Beach: This unique beach is famous for its granite rock formations sculpted by the sea, creating natural swimming pools. It offers a surreal and beautiful landscape.

  5. Lefkes: Nestled in the mountains, Lefkes is a traditional village with narrow alleys, white houses, and a relaxed atmosphere. The Church of Agia Triada and the windmills are notable attractions in the area.

  6. Antiparos: Just a short ferry ride from Paros, Antiparos is a small island known for its charming main town, beautiful beaches, and the famous Cave of Antiparos with stunning stalactite formations.

  7. Archaeological Museum of Paros: Located in Parikia, this museum houses a collection of artifacts dating back to the Neolithic period, showcasing the island's rich history.

  8. Monastery of Panagia Ekatontapiliani: Also known as the Church of 100 Doors, this Byzantine church in Parikia is one of the oldest and most important religious sites in the Cyclades.

  9. Winery Visits: Paros has a growing wine industry, and visitors can explore local vineyards, taste unique wines, and learn about the island's winemaking traditions.

  10. Folklore Art Museum of Cycladic Civilization: Situated in the capital, this museum displays a collection of traditional Cycladic art, providing insight into the cultural heritage of the region.

Paros offers a perfect blend of history, natural beauty, and vibrant local culture, making it a fantastic destination for a Greek island getaway.
