About Lefkada
Lefkada is one of the most enchanting and beautiful Greek islands combining a green landscape with clear blue, clean beaches. It is one of the seven islands of the Ionian Sea and is unique because it is connected with the rest of Greece by means of a bridge.
Lefkada’s name means white and refers to its beautiful white cliffs in the southern part of the island. Its capital city is also called Lefkada and is one of the most popular summer destination. Visit the old town which was built during Venetian period (1684-1797). The Old town is famous for its castle, museums and churches from the 17th century. Lefkada combines impressive villages by the sea and mountainous settlements. On the western coast of Lefkada, you will see the wild site of the island and some of the most beautiful beaches of Mediterranean. It offers natural beauty all around, from its green forests to its crystal-clear waters. Lefkada is definitely a go-to location for upbeat vacations with amazing sights to see, and a variety of activities to partake in, from water-sports to clubbing.
Lefkada is the 4th biggest island in the Ionian Sea and it amazes all the visitors with the exotic blue of its beaches.
Agios Ioannis – Mili: for windsurfers and kite surfers, 4.5 km beach.
Kastro – Ammoglossa – Gyra: locals preference.
Milos: is a remote beach between Agios Nikitas and Kathisma, on the western side of Lefkada. You can choose between a trekking passage or a boat trip from Ag Nikitas to discover this sandy beach.
Kathisma: for sky parachuting, the most cosmopolitan beach of Lefkada with many beach bars and restaurants.
Gialos: a bit further from Athani village.
Porto Katsiki: the best most known beach of Lefkada and among the 10 best beaches in Greece with its fine white sand under the impressive white cliff.
Vasiliki: is a paradise of windsurfers.
Agiofylli: This is a small beach in close distance to Vassiliki, the popular windsurfing spot on the south of the island. Egremni beach: one of the most impressive beaches of Lefkada, Egremni has an immense sandy coastline. Visitors have to climb up and down a lot of steep steps.
Megali Petra: This small beach is close to Kalamitsi village, at the west coast of the island. Its name means “large rock”, depriving from the rocks that come out from the sea.
At Nidri don’t forget to see the amazing waterfalls, at Sfakiotes village walk in canyon of Melissa and have a visit in forest of Skaros with oak trees and amazing view over Nikiana village.
MEGANISSI ISLAND
Meganissi is a picturesque island in the Ionian Sea, four nautical miles southeast of Lefkada island and 1.5 nautical miles from Skorpios. It is the largest island of a cluster of islands (Scorpios, Scorpidi, Tsokari, Madouri, Sparti, Heloni), which constitutes the administrative district of the Municipality of Meganisi. It has an area of 20 sq. km.
The island has three villages, Vathy, Katomeri and Spartochori all with their own character and style preferred by many VIP local and foreign travelers. It also boasts three ports, Vathy, Spilia and Atherinos as well as countless bays, marinas and natural harbors perfect for the mooring of yachts. Some of the most popular activities on the island include swimming in its exotic waters, windsurfing, kitesurfing, wakeboard, scuba diving, water skiing, paragliding as well as hiking through the marvelous green landscape, the small settlements, picturesque chapels, secluded beaches and hilltops.
